Responsible Conduct of Research at UMC
What is Responsible Conduct of Research?
Basically,
RCR is being responsible in the process of research.
Being responsible means performing research honestly and objectively, without wasting public funds
or allowing opinions to affect the results. For more information, please see the Office of Research Integrity's
Introduction to RCR.
What role does Responsible Conduct of Research play at UMC?
Real world application of
RCR can
be harder than it seems because of the number of government
regulations and the fact that each discipline can have its own
RCR protocols and practices.
UMC provides education about
RCR through a series of lectures every year.
